Chapter 28
Willa
I looked down at the two options on my bed â the pretty black nightgown Iâd started with at Balenciaga and the bustier/garter/stocking set that had ended with my ass in Neoâs hands.
Iâd bought a few basics at Bergdorf â they were fine for that kind of thing, just not exactly my style in the fashion department â but tonight was not a night for basic. Three of the hottest inked men on the planet were downstairs, one of them loaded with dick piercings, and they were all waiting for me.
I wondered what Neo would be wearing when I returned, then forced myself not to think about it. I needed to focus, and imagining Neo in his underwear was not the path to clarity.
âSafe or slutty, safe or sluttyâ¦â I murmured to myself.
A knock sounded from my door and I turned to face it. âYeah?â
Claire stuck her head in the room. âCan I come in?â
âPlease,â I said. âI need help. I canât decide what to wear.â
She closed the door behind her and set her drink on my dresser. I immediately put a notebook under the cup because the Kingsâ furniture was nice and hella expensive.
âSorry,â she said.
I waved away the apology. âI canât believe you guys did all this for me.â
âIâd love to take credit, but it was all the Kings. Theyâve been planning it for weeks.â
I drew in a breath, feeling weirdly emotional. âNobodyâs ever done something like this for me before.â
She laughed. âMaybe nobodyâs ever been this obsessed with you before.â
Obsessed. There was that word again.
âI wouldnât go that far,â I said.
She laughed. âYou didnât see Oscar and Rock asking for my input on decorations and cake.â
âItâs so nice,â I said. âIâm still in shock.â
She gave me a hug. âYou deserve it! Now show me your options.â
I waved to the bed. âI have other stuff, but Iâve narrowed it to these two.â
She eyed the Balenciaga bags piled on one side of my room. âDamn, girl.â
âI know.â I almost broke out into hives thinking about the price tag on all the clothes Neo had bought me, the way heâd casually handed over his credit card like he was paying for coffee instead of the equivalent of a new car.
A nice one.
She looked at the lingerie on my bed. âYouâre joking right?â
âWhatâs wrong with them?â I asked.
âNothing, but this is an easy call.â She picked up the black nightgown. âThis is great for sex night with your husband in twenty years.â She tossed it aside and pointed at the bustier set. âThat is what you want to make the Kings hot. Wait⦠you do want to make the Kings hot right?â
I drew in a breath. âYou know what? Yeah, I do.â
The time for playing it safe was seeming further and further in the past. I was already way out of my comfort zone on basically everything.
Might as well go all in.
Claire grinned. âThen I think you know what to do. Come on, Iâll help you with your makeup.â
